Open to all service-focused freshman through senior high school students, this teen program is a collaboration between Sertoma and Georgetown ISD. Students from East View, Georgetown High School and Richarte learn about themselves as they develop leadership skills providing services to their school and community.
Every year Sertoma honors President's Day by having an essay contest open to all GISD students in grades 6-12. We honor our past presidents, veterans and Purple Heart recipients by recognizing our national heritage and how it shapes our everyday lives. The most recent topic selected was "What Makes America Special?" Information for 2023 will be posted here in January.
For 26 years Sertoma has been giving college scholarships to 200 deserving GISD high school Seniors totaling over $250,000. Monies are raised throughout the year from our events. Application deadline is April 1 every year. Please check back here in January.
Serteens decide on a community project at the beginning of the year. They conduct their business under the guidance of a high school teacher and a Sertoma member. They also initiate fund-raising projects and provide auxiliary support to Sertoma's many events. Please call us to see how you can get involved today!
